Getting through the parking area to the conference center was a little tricky, but it was worth it. The meeting rooms were gorgeous, with comfortable seating, including really nice office chairs instead of the usual hard, cheap ones. The views from the windows were amazing on such a beautiful day, and the food was incredible. You’d never guess it had been prepared for hundreds of people. I was very impressed with the center, and the staff was fantastic.

We’d stay here again if we needed to attend something there. Check-out was quick and friendly, and there was fresh coffee and iced water in the lobby. The room had a fridge, and there’s a little store in the lobby, plus some pleasant views. Do keep in mind there are stairs and I didn’t see elevators, especially between room floors, so mention any mobility needs when booking. We were here for one night this weekend because friends were getting married at Kellogg House on the campus. We knew from the website there was no breakfast and that it wasn’t a fancy place. For $160 total, we were happy with what we got. We could have paid more for a fancier chain hotel with breakfast, but chose this one. In airline terms, I’d call it Economy Plus. We’d requested a 1:30 p.m. early check-in at least a week ahead because of the wedding. The front desk guy was pleasant but very laid-back and needed a nudge. We arrived at 2:15, and the room was still being finished. We changed quickly once it was ready and got on our way. There was some confusion about whether the hotel had a shuttle to the venue, but we took an Uber. It’s less than a mile away, though not walkable in wedding clothes. The place is a bit dated and rough around the edges, but it’s a conference center hotel at a university, not a destination or vacation spot. The corridors feel a little clinical, but the rooms are a good size, have what you need, and some connect to each other. We were mostly there to change and sleep, so it worked fine. It was generally clean, apart from a few bathroom hairs and marks on the ceiling that looked like water stains. The bed and pillows were great, and the sheets were clean and tidy. I’d have been happy staying here for a conference too. It’s functional, not swanky.

There’s a great area for conferences and family reunions, and it works well for a night, but the rooms aren’t the best. You can sleep here, though I’d bring a blanket because the sheets are almost see-through. Otherwise it’s fine. There’s nothing around, so expect to drive.

Kellogg West Conference Center has lovely grounds, good walking areas, and pleasant views. I also appreciated the complimentary EV charging stations. The staff were friendly and polite throughout, though they seemed unable to do anything about the closed facilities. I arrived to find both the pool and gym closed to guests, with no warning. I specifically look for those amenities when booking, so that was a real letdown. There was no compensation or alternative offered, and the manager we were told to email never followed up. The room had issues too. Its old air conditioner struggled to keep the temperature comfortable during the warmer parts of the day. In Southern California, working AC is a necessity. The property has potential, but the unannounced closures and dated room features kept this from being a higher-rated stay.

I went to a conference, not an overnight stay. The conference room was nice, and the lobby and check-in area felt like a usual five-star hotel. There are two parking areas. Since the hotel is on a college campus and colleges enforce parking 24/7, I called to ask about it. There’s no parking fee, but you need to tell the front desk your license plate or register your car online. I also attended a gala dinner here many moons ago, before Google Reviews existed. The room had a gorgeous view and the food was great. I don’t remember it being awful, like rubbery chicken. The staff were great too. I’m guessing they’re students, since the college offers a hospitality degree. I was surprised by how big Cal Poly Pomona’s campus was, and that it didn’t smell like a farm like UC Davis.
