Canada House Pompano Beach

The pool was big and clean, the hot tub was very warm, and there were activities around the pool for anyone who wanted to join in. The grounds were neat and beautifully kept. Staff we met were friendly, polite, and professional. This isn’t run like a regular hotel, though. It felt more like an Airbnb, and we were expected to take out garbage, wash dishes, and strip the beds before leaving. That was fine with us, but I hadn’t known in advance. Our family of four booked a King one-bedroom suite. The property is only steps from the beach. I was initially disappointed to get a ground floor room, but the two large sliding doors made it easy to head out to the beach. We didn’t have an ocean view, just a peaceful lagoon or lake behind the building. The room and building were dated but very well maintained and, most importantly to me, clean. The main bedroom bed was extremely comfortable, as was the Murphy bed. The pullout sofa bed wasn’t great, it didn’t lie flat and had a very thin mattress. One child managed on it, but I think an adult would find it uncomfortable. Having two full bathrooms was a big help for a family. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, cutlery, mugs, cups, and cookware, and had a fridge, microwave, stove and oven, and dishwasher. There wasn’t a kettle, so we boiled water for tea in a pot on the stove. There was a coffee maker. The air conditioning worked really well, and there was a heat option too. We had a great stay and would come back. It feels like a hidden gem, and the price was reasonable for what you get.

I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, and this place brought back memories of the beach before all the ultra modern high rises changed the view. The location is hard to beat, and the whole property was well maintained. The rooms were nice and clean, the staff were great, and I enjoyed the morning coffee. The one thing I didn’t like was the beds, they were very uncomfortable. I’d definitely come back.

We spent two weeks on the WEST side, and the room felt cozy and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The pool and hot tub were great. The front desk staff were friendly, fun, and especially accommodating. Can’t wait to book another stay. Thanks from Paul and Jana.

The people working there were polite, kind, and helpful. Our King Junior Suite had a big, clean, comfortable room, plus a kitchen and bathrooms. The east-facing balconies had a great ocean view. A path leads to a very quiet beach that almost feels private. There’s plenty of self parking, and the neighborhood is quiet while still being close to shops, restaurants, and more.
