Fairfield Inn Ponca City

I'd recommend the hotel if you need somewhere to stop in Oklahoma. It felt very safe, and everyone I encountered in Ponca City was normal and welcoming. The staff were friendly, especially Justin, and the shower had hot water and great pressure. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within a five-minute drive, with most close enough to walk to. I'll come back if I need a place to stay. One improvement I'd suggest is using a detergent that leaves the sheets softer.

I'm not planning to book this hotel again. The whole place was under construction, and rooms should be cleaned better. They could also do the construction when paying guests aren't inside, though I don't know how they'd quiet the rooftop HVAC units. We came for Thanksgiving to visit family and booked four nights for my wife, son, and me at the Fairfield. My sister had stayed there years earlier and had an okay visit. Check-in went smoothly, but the first assigned room was filthy, with bugs on the counter and trash in the corners and behind the bed. It looked like nobody had vacuumed after the last guest. It was right behind the loud, clanky elevator, too, so a quiet night was impossible. The next room was farther down the hall, but there was still a low rumble, probably from the rooftop HVAC units since we were on the third floor. It was loud in the hallway and a little quieter in the room. We checked everything for cleanliness and found bits and crumbs in the corners. It was midnight, so we decided not to switch hotels that night. It wasn't a great room, but the rate was low, so we made do for a couple of nights. At least we didn't find bedbugs, which surprised me. Breakfast was low quality, though I hadn't expected much food, and my son enjoyed using the pancake maker, his favorite.

The stay itself was average, and I had no complaints while I was there. But on my last day, I left a wireless speaker on the dresser. I called that same day and asked the front desk to hold it until I returned to Ponca. They said neither staff nor the next guest had found it. After that, I decided not to stay at a hotel that operates this way, and I'll suggest my colleagues do the same on company trips.

Check-in was easy, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip. Thank you.
