The place is pretty dated for what they charge. When I checked in, a woman behind me said she was in room 203 or 205 and had been bitten by bedbugs. The staff member didn't have an answer for her, so I was tired and hoping I wouldn't have the same problem. I didn't, at least in room 109. If all you need is a quick place to rest and shower, it can do the job.

I got in a little after 10 p.m. after a quick check-in around 7 on June 12, 2025. They even gave me quarters for laundry. The towels looked old, but I showered and ate. The TV wasn't working at first. After a trip to Walmart for detergent and a few other things, I started my laundry and finally lay down around 12:10 a.m. By about 1:50, I was itching and found a lot of bedbugs. I killed one and it was full of my blood. I rushed my belongings into the car, leaving behind the clothes I'd put on the bed for work. The front desk woman was rude and stopped speaking to me because I was recording. When I asked for a manager, I was told to contact Hopper about a refund. I'm 12 hours from home, had to be at work at 6 a.m., and by the time I walked out of the office it was about 2:50. I got no sleep, no refund, and no peace. I sat in my car until 6, and the bugs had bitten me pretty badly. Don't stay there. The ratings are lies, the hotel is infested, and they should be ashamed of taking advantage of people.

Those two weekday front desk staff were the one good part of our five nights here for the USBC tournament in Baton Rouge. They were genuinely nice and treated us well. The state of the hotel, though, was awful. Our room had no lamps or phone, the walls were in various stages of disrepair, and the bathroom corners looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in decades. There were boogers on the walls, blood or fecal stains by the bathroom door threshold, and food marks inside the mini fridge. We even found termites on the bathroom floor. Teammates two doors away found a cockroach in their fridge, moved rooms, then had two more cockroach encounters in the new room. The cleaning lady never serviced our room, so I had to get linens, trash bags, and toilet paper from the desk, and borrow a vacuum to clean the carpet myself. They charge far too much for a night here. My teammates and I won't return to this location or another Oyo property. I feel for the couple at the desk, since they were fantastic to us and the condition of the place isn't their fault. I'd ask Oyo for a refund, but they clearly need the money to clean the properties and get exterminators for the cockroaches and termites. Worst hotel stay of my life. Congrats, Team Oyo, you really knocked this one out of the park. You should be ashamed. And if you go to the Waffle House across the parking lot, Bigg Chris is the man!!!

The staff were friendly and helped when the TV wasn't working, and the location worked okay for our visit. The room itself was a different story. It looked old and dingy, there were what looked like roach droppings by an outlet near the TV stand, no blanket on the bed, and the carpet felt almost damp. I was so worried about bedbugs that I checked the mattress and bedding every night, then washed everything when we got home just in case. We'd booked two queens, but got one king. There were only two of us, so we managed, though it wasn't what I paid for. We were also told the key card wouldn't work while renovations were underway, and a staff member would have to let us in every time we returned. That made me uneasy, so I barricaded the door with the coffee table. I didn't want to stay, but felt I had no choice. We left feeling disgusting, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

I booked nine nights at Oyo and left after two, when my coworker showed up with bites all over him two mornings in a row. We pulled the sheets back and found a bedbug. I told the staff I was leaving that morning and asked for a full refund. They said they hadn't found bugs and would send a company to check, then get back to me. They never did. Later I spoke to the manager about getting back the money for the nights I hadn't stayed. I was told it was no problem and would take two or three weeks. It's been almost two months and I still haven't received anything. I can't reach the hotel, and customer support says my booking ID isn't on file and there's nothing they can do. So watch out if you book with Oyo. They have bugs, promise a refund, and don't return the money.
