The location was the strongest point: it was central on the island, with good beach access, an on-site walking path, and a rinse-off station. But most everything else fell short. The bathrooms were quite old and collecting mold. The pool itself was nice, but using it felt like a gamble. It was supposed to be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., yet twice we went to swim midday and found it closed for cleaning. That may not bother everyone, but it was really annoying for a family with kids.

The walk to the beach was pleasant and not too far, and the showers for rinsing off afterward were convenient. Port A's beach was typical, the sunsets were always pretty, and building sandcastles was fun. The jellyfish were around, though, so be careful: two of the four of us got mild stings. The pool chairs and furniture were still comfortable and in good shape, but half the pool was green with algae, which concerned us most. We'd liked Sea Isle a couple years ago, but this visit was disappointing. The room felt run down, with sloppy repairs like a missing fridge handle, separating cabinets, a coming-apart headboard, and visible patchwork. It was only sort of clean: our feet got so dirty after a few minutes that we swept and mopped, and one bed seemed to have soiled pillowcases, so we washed much of the bedding. The decor and furniture were nice.
The pool was fabulous, and the beach was an easy walk just around the corner. Our condo had everything we needed for a fun little weekend in Port A. We loved staying here and highly recommend this great location!
It was only three minutes from the beach and pet friendly, so my daughter could bring her dog. The place felt cozy, with a kitchen and living area, a queen bed, and a trundle bed. I especially liked the two rocking chairs and little table on the patio. There was even a pail or planter with sand for putting out my cigarette butts, a thoughtful touch for me. My daughter and I enjoyed sitting outside at night. When I return to Port Aransas, I definitely want to stay here again.
The maintenance crew was very nice, and the resort is reasonably priced, with easy beach access and a great pool. The pool was kept pretty cold, though, so we didn't get to use it much. We noticed a few problems when we arrived, especially a chair that collapsed under my wife because of a bad leg, and no cold water from the kitchen sink. Those issues kept it from being a five-star stay for me. Still, we'd likely come back and would recommend it.
