We've visited Port A before and used Silver Sands management for past stays, but this was by far our worst rental. The kitchen was missing basic things we'd always found in other rentals, and we thought two stars was generous. The floor looked swept, but clearly hadn't been mopped. After walking barefoot for an hour, the bottoms of our feet were black. Many dishes were dirty, and the cups and mugs smelled awful. One cup even had dried sour milk visible in the picture. The shower curtain in the only bathroom was too short, so about half an inch of water ended up on the floor even when we showered carefully. The folding closet door fell on my eight-year-old daughter's head as soon as she opened it. We reported it Monday, but it still wasn't fixed during our five-day stay. A dining chair seat wasn't screwed on, and the bunk bed ladder was attached badly. Its single screw had broken the wood and was sticking out, waiting to catch someone's foot or leg. There were only a couple of extra sheets, no blanket for our son's trundle bed. We asked housekeeping, who were cleaning another unit, for one. They said they'd bring it that afternoon, but never did. One day someone power-washed the mold-covered outside of the door while we were gone. We came back to a lot of water in the entry and had to clean it up ourselves. For three days, the bedrooms and second bathroom had no electricity. Management said they'd send someone, but nobody came. There was no breaker in the unit; it was out in the parking area, and it was hard to tell which one belonged to us. A maintenance guy eventually came to change the air filter, and I mentioned the issue to him. He took care of it.
