Coral Cay 116 2 Bedroom Condo

The location is awesome, just steps from the beach. Our unit was very clean and newly remodeled. We accidentally got locked out, but the after-hours person got us back in quickly.

At $280 a night, this unit was nowhere near acceptable. The musty smell hit as soon as we walked in, and someone in the office said the whole building had odor problems. She offered to have housekeeping “touch up” the unit and said they all needed Febreezed, which didn’t help us. I bought Damp Rid and room deodorizer at a hardware store; they helped a little. We were in unit 132 from 3/3/25 to 3/12/35. The buildings are old, and crews were sawing into the outside concrete to reach deteriorated rebar that was causing structural problems. Inside, the unit felt dated, had very few cooking utensils, and the furniture looked thrift-store quality. The patio chairs used at the kitchen table made it hard to sit at the table properly. There was mold around the bathtub, and the bathroom sink drained very slowly.

The room was clean and quite nice, and the price was very reasonable. It’s an easy, pleasant walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The grounds and building were also clean and well kept, and the motel looks like it may have been refurbished recently. We met the owner when checking in; very friendly and ready to help.

The only thing going for this place is how close the condos are to the beach. We were in 209, and the whole property felt old and neglected. The furniture was worn, dirty, and dated, and the place smelled like musty, dirty furniture the moment we opened the door. There were roach droppings in the kitchen cupboards, hardly any pots, pans, or bowls, and the bathroom was filthy and smelled awful. The floors hadn’t been cleaned, so I had to sweep and mop them myself. After paying $500 a night, that’s the last thing you want to do. I doubt housekeeping swept, mopped, or sanitized. The bedding had stains too, so check the beds before lying down. The towels were the only things that looked clean and smelled fresh. When I brought up the cleanliness, the woman at the front desk said, “we’ll talk to housekeeping.” That was about it. I’m never coming back. If you have little kids who crawl, go somewhere else.
