There’s plenty of room for families, and the location is convenient, though the place is a bit dated and could use upgrades. The tub and toilet are in a very small area. It was humid in the room, and the bedding felt damp and sticky when we arrived. My husband also had to kill a roach. We had four guests but only three towels, and getting more meant exchanging the ones we had. After arriving at 9 pm, I really wasn’t up for doing that. The soap was just a basic bar. Breakfast was basic and ended at 9 am, but I’m still glad they offered it. Please clean the bathroom vents; they’re packed with dirt and lint, which seems like a serious fire hazard.

The pool was cool in both temperature and layout, and the woman who checked us in was great: professional, friendly, and clear when explaining things. The hotel has colorful, unusual buildings. The large rooms reminded me of buildings from before air conditioning, with a separate AC unit in each wall. Tile floors are useful for cleaning up sand, though humidity can make them slippery. The beds were comfortable and the blankets fresh, but with all the humidity you may not need one. There are lots of lights with USB ports and outlets for everyone’s electronics, kids included. The sink is just outside the bathroom, while the toilet and shower share a cramped little room. There’s also a nice mini fridge and kitchenette area. One thing: building 1 of the 2 has only one handicap parking spot, on the right.

Dirty, poorly maintained rooms and an unpleasant front desk interaction made this a disappointing family trip. We came Friday night with our two teenage boys. They arrived about ten minutes before us with a friend and went into the office to wait, but the front desk woman was very rude and kicked them out instead of politely asking them to wait outside. It was a rough start to the vacation. The pool also closed at 10 pm. I know hotels set their own hours, but families on vacation would like to enjoy the evenings together a little later.

I came to Port A for a few days because I wanted a quick little getaway nearby, and absolutely loved it. The hospitality was amazing, and the front desk woman was really nice and as informative as she could be. Our room was clean and breakfast was well stocked. We spotted coyotes on site, and the hot tub was nice. The beach is about a minute away by car and also within walking distance. I’m definitely planning to book again. Thank you!

The place isn’t the prettiest in town, but it was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and upgrades. Breakfast was coffee, juice, and carbs, lol. The location near the beach is really good, which matters a lot. I’ll be back!
