Lively Beach

The four stars are mainly because of the room. It was nice overall, with a well-equipped kitchen, a good TV, plenty of storage, and a comfy bed, but the bathroom was a bit grimy, with mold or mildew showing in a few spots. There were also lots of marks on the walls and floors, which made it feel less clean. Humidity was the biggest issue: even after we ran the AC on dehumidifier for hours, the room stayed humid day and night. The roller shade let some light through, too, so sunrise made it hard to keep sleeping. On the plus side, the heated pool was very nice, and they seemed to have fun free activities every day. Check-in was seamless, everyone we spoke with was helpful, and the location felt secluded from the hustle and bustle. We loved our stay at Lively Beach resort.

There was a lot going on for guests the weekend we visited: water aerobics, live music, a fire pit, scavenger hunts, painting, and free donuts. One evening, vendors had food, coffee, and crafts, while the resort set up a table for roasting s'mores. The rooms are clean and beautiful, with home comforts like TVs, a full kitchen, a private patio, and a really comfortable bed. Service was top notch, too. Lively Beach Resort is a great place to stay in Corpus. It’s a short walk to the beach, and there’s a beautiful pool. You can also rent golf carts if you’d rather not walk or park your car on the beach.

The kitchen had everything you might need to cook, but the room wasn’t clean, with black dog hair all over, and the couch could use a thorough vacuuming. Outside, the dog area had stickers in the grass and a lot of mosquitoes, more like 20 than one or two. They were attacking us constantly. I booked through Airbnb and entered the room, pet, and guest details, then paid $230 thinking that was the full price. Afterward, I got a call asking for my card details for a separate pet fee, about $55 for the first night and $44 for each night after. I didn’t think all that was worth it, especially with the rain. I asked to cancel, but the woman said no. I might have felt differently if we could’ve used the pool and explored outside. It’s a nice place, just not worth it when it’s pouring. Ask questions before booking.

The units are thoughtfully laid out, with great windows, light, and space. We were treated very well at this quiet little property, which seems to deserve more visitors than it gets. It’s a hidden gem, with active management putting on small parties and activities for guests. Check-in was self-service and painless, and the room had extra beach towels and plenty of soap. The pool is great, with bathrooms nearby. There’s a boardwalk straight to the pale sand. The 2-3 story dunes block the direct beach view from the room, but they also cut the strong wind. If you fish, North Packery Channel Jetty is within walking distance, and there are other spots along the long channel. We saw people pulling out lots of big sheepshead, and I’m sure you can find all kinds of sport fish there. We also saw plenty of baby sea turtles from the jetty.
