We were there for Sandfest, staying three nights in Sunrise Villas, room #109, from 4/18-4/20/2024. The bill came to about $700+. The room was spacious, nice, and had updated appliances, though the shower in the only bathroom was older, with stained grout that needed a good scrub or something. The microwave kept cutting out completely as if it had no power. It wouldn't turn on again until later, and then the clock needed resetting. After about 30 seconds of use, it shut off again. The coffee maker's water reservoir was filthy, dirtier than most I've seen, even though I always check and clean them. Everything else was fine. The AC can freeze you out, so don't set it too low overnight. Also, the ceiling fan was the nicest I've ever seen. We'd stay again, but please fix that microwave and clean the coffee maker.

Room 208, managed by Port A Property Company, was clean, nicely updated, and very close to the beach. The kitchen had nearly everything for cooking and eating in, though there are too many good restaurants just minutes away to pass up. The converted hotel/motel setup is clear: each unit spans a front and back room, with the dividing wall removed to make a hall, and one side turned into a living room and kitchen. They did a great job with the conversion and decor. The pool is clean and right out front, with a few chairs, a table, and a couple of chaise lounges. The gate doesn't keep out people who aren't staying at the Villas. The digital door lock was fussy but worked with a little fiddling.

I'm now left either canceling with no payment or trying to figure out how to afford the stay while grieving during my time there. I had been looking forward to coming, but after a major loss, my money has to go toward funeral expenses. Do they care? No. All I hear is "policy, policy, policy." I understand they have a business to run, but filling our place is easy for them, while replacing my loss is impossible. There's no empathy or care at all. If this is how they treat you before you even arrive, I can imagine how the rental process goes. Horrible people.

Sunrise Villas 201 is near the beach, and the location and space are nice, but I won't stay there again. The smell throughout the building was overpowering, like old people smell. We caught it outside the closed condo doors, got hit with it when we opened ours, and could even smell it on the grass after coming back from the beach, which is a good distance away. It was nauseating for us. Sleep was rough, too. The bed was VERY hard with no give, and my husband, who can usually sleep anywhere, had trouble the whole time. There were no curtains on the two bedroom windows. That alone wasn't a big deal, but a bright light right above one window couldn't be turned off, so neither of us could stay asleep, even with my sleep mask. Something loose on the roof kept banging. I thought we'd have roof access because the photos show views from up there, but only permanent residents can go on the roof. The sofa bed was terrible as well. After I signed the check-in paperwork, they gave me another set of rules that was the same information I'd already received when I paid the deposit. It said not to set the AC below 75, which isn't comfortable for us to sleep in. I feel I should be able to set the temperature to my comfort when I'm paying to stay. The rules also said that if we set it below 75 and the unit froze up, we'd be charged for a service call.

Check-in and check-out were so easy, and my teenagers and 4-year-old loved it too. It felt just like home away from home, and they really go the extra mile to make you comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay and can't think of anything that could have been better. I'd highly recommend room 105.
