The Inn at Tabbs Creek

The hardest part was leaving. My wife and I are already planning another visit after a stay where we felt more like family than guests, from Sherry’s first hello to our goodbye waves. We’d been looking for a quiet little getaway, and even before arriving, the friendly, professional communication from The Inn at Tabbs Creek put us at ease. Sherry answered when we called, and we knew we’d found the place for us. The Inn came into view along a whimsical dusty drive, and the restored late-1800s building gave us the feeling of stepping into another world. Ridge welcomed us and showed us in, then Sherry greeted us and gave us a lovely tour of the Inn and grounds before taking us to our room. It was spotless and beautifully done, with heated tile floors and cozy towels. Sherry walked us through the room and its amenities, then left us to settle in. My wife and I looked at each other and both said, “Wow!” We had lunch in town, then came back for a peaceful bite overlooking the calm water at the dock. The heated pool was wonderful too. We also went to one of the Inn’s special dinners and had huge, delicious fresh stone crab claws from Florida. Breakfast each morning was a full, coursed meal, made from scratch with locally sourced organic ingredients and fresh herbs from the property. We felt spoiled, and left full and happy. The private dinner for just my wife and me was another highlight. We ate a delicious meal by a fireplace, with gentle music playing in the back room and the fire giving off a warm glow. We’re grateful to Sherry, Ridge, and the team for such a special stay.

I’d happily come back to The Inn at Tabbs Creek. Sherry, Ridge, and Sara were warm, friendly, and professional in their messages before and during my stay, and the staff made the whole visit feel incredible. It’s a lovely choice if you’re after a peaceful getaway. The rooms and all the little nooks around the inn felt welcoming, with beautiful attention to detail. Sherry and Ridge did an amazing job renovating the property. Each morning’s breakfast was delicious, and Sara is a gem. I also loved the thoughtful coffee and tea station with warm mugs. Having a snack pantry, ice cream, and fruit-infused water was a nice bonus. Looking forward to my next stay!

We’ve stayed four times now, and it still feels like coming home, with some lovely improvements. This was our first visit since the new owners took over, and the renovations really impressed us. The suite was luxurious, and the main house has charming updates, including a speakeasy where you can grab a late-night drink and ice cream. Breakfast was phenomenal, and the attentive service is just as good as ever. Being right on the Bay is so restorative. We absolutely recommend the Inn at Tabbs Creek and will be back soon.

The heated pool is open year-round, and we also spent plenty of time relaxing on the screened porch, which is heated in the fall. My husband and I were there for our first wedding anniversary, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt impeccable. They offered us early check-in, but traffic meant we couldn’t use it. Sherry welcomed us, and her warmth and care for the details were unmatched. The recently renovated inn still has its timeless charm. Our room was spectacular, with decor and atmosphere Sherry designed herself, plus heated bathroom floors. She also gave us a tour of the other rooms, and you can see how much love and care went into the place. Breakfast was delicious each morning, and they thoughtfully made my meal to fit my dietary restrictions. It tasted like a five-star restaurant. The coffee and tea setup was another highlight, with fresh coffee every morning and a full coffee bar where I could customize my drink. It was an absolute honor to stay here, and we’re already planning another visit.
