Comfort Inn On the Bay

The room was clean, everything worked, and we had no issues. It’s an older place that hasn’t had much updating, but with so much to see and do nearby, I didn’t need to spend much time in the room anyway. The location right on the water and the beautiful views are the main draw. It was a good spot to nap, take a break, and get a good night’s sleep.

The harbor lights reflecting on the water from the naval base across the way were such a nice sight. You can also hear the base play the Star-Spangled Banner on trumpet over a loudspeaker every morning from the hotel. This was my second stay, and my boyfriend’s first. I keep coming back because it’s well kept, right on the water, has free breakfast, and is close to the things I like doing when I visit the area. ❤️ That harbor view was the only photo I managed to take this time.

The view was great, the staff were friendly, and check-in went quickly. We liked the artwork showing local scenes, and there are several restaurants within walking distance. There’s also free paved parking. We’ll likely stay again when we’re in the area, since the visit was pleasant overall. The housekeeping notice in the room said service was by request, though we were told it happened every third day and it was actually done daily. The sign should be changed so guests know it’s daily, and housekeeping staff don’t miss out on tips. Breakfast was fine, with the same hot options each day, and the waffles were nice. The room could use maintenance: the tub faucet dripped, there was mold and/or dirt at the tub’s outer corner near the toilet, and the wallpaper was peeling and bulging in places. WiFi was very weak and slow when it connected. My phone couldn’t connect because the signal was too weak, and my tablet connection kept cutting in and out.

The view was nice, and it was easy to get to the rooms with parking around the back. Still, my girlfriend and I probably won’t return soon. We stayed Dec 9th to 16th, and the room had badly damaged doors and stains on most of the fabrics. There were a lot of sketchy people in the area, which left my girlfriend needing reassurance several times. We were charged a $650 deposit, and as of Jan 2nd, more than two weeks later, it still hadn’t been returned to my girlfriend’s account.
