My one real gripe, given the price, is the lack of hooks for bath towels. There’s only one of those metal ring racks on the wall, so on a stay of several nights you have to put a wet bath towel over clean, dry hand towels. That’s not ideal. I like that housekeeping comes every other day, but since each guest gets only one towel, it’s inconvenient without a proper way to dry it for reuse. Could they add a couple of inexpensive towel hooks in each bathroom? This is an old, independently owned, low-cost motel, so it has its quirks. Still, it was very clean for this type of lodging. The only thing that looked dirty was dust on the bathroom window blinds. The high-touch surfaces showed no discoloration on white disinfecting wipes, which is what matters most. The cleaning staff were kind when I interacted with them, and the shower pressure was phenomenal.

They left my key in the unlocked room since I was late checking in, and let me settle up the next day, which was pretty cool. The room was clean and in good shape, and it’s conveniently close to the mill. The price is average for the area, though it feels high to me.

The staff were nice and check-in was easy. The carpet along the outside walkway is worn, but I saw housekeepers cleaning light fixtures and dusting beneath the roof over the walkway, so they seem to care about keeping things clean. In our room, the carpet and fixtures were in good shape and worked well. The pool and spa are closed for renovations. There’s a nice green area below the pool building where our dog could stretch his legs and go to the bathroom. The Port Townsend Inn is an older budget motel, but we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. The room was clean, and the air conditioning worked well through a couple of hot days. There was plenty of parking, and downtown is less than half a mile away, an easy walk for us. If you drive, there are lots of parking options closer, and you can catch a ferry downtown. There are plenty of places to eat, from pizza and Thai to homestyle food, breakfast spots, coffee shops, and ice cream, plus lots of shops and art galleries.

The room was clean, a bit dated, and the bed was comfy. It was quiet, with well-lit parking right outside the room. This is the only hotel around with an indoor pool.

Jonathan at the front desk was easygoing and a good man. My wife and I enjoyed our two nights. The room was quiet, and we were close to everything.
