Baymont by Wyndham Portage Indiana Dunes

We celebrated my Dad's 87th birthday on Saturday November 1st, and the staff made the event easy. They were helpful and friendly, and the setup was organized so I didn't have to arrange anything myself. My stay was great too, with a clean, comfortable room. I'd recommend Baymont Inn to friends and family 🧡 and I'll be booking our Family Christmas Party soon. THANK YOU TO All especially Ms. Gonzalez !

Breakfast was decent and available every day, though fresh coffee wasn't ready before 6-7 am, and I had to ask the clerk for creamer each day since it hadn't been restocked. The location is good and the room rates are fairly low, but the old mattress was much too hard for me. I stayed 2Weeks and had to switch rooms when the heater failed. Shower water was warm, never hot. I'd give it 4 out of 10. You get what you pay for.

Colletta was wonderful and tried her best to help us, so none of this was her fault. We were crossing the country and needed a quick overnight rest with our elderly dog, but the rooms made the stay difficult. The first one smelled strongly of cat urine. The second didn't have that odor, but it was badly worn, with torn lampshades falling apart and most outlets dead. There wasn't a working bathroom outlet, so I couldn't use the wall-mounted hair dryer. Our key cards worked only sometimes, and the side door closest to the easy dog exit wouldn't open with a card. I was told it should be unlocked, but it wasn't, so I propped it open with a rock. We take this route twice a year and won't stay here again.

The room was really clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff made us feel welcome. We had a great stay with no complaints, and I'll come back next time I'm visiting the dunes.
