Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center

The local transportation passes they give you are a nice touch, and Brandon was great. The rooms were clean, with nice views all around. The toilet has a door, but the bathroom itself doesn’t. The shower offers some privacy because it isn’t completely see-through, though the head and foot areas are still transparent from the entryway or sink. For the price, the facilities, location, cleanliness, and especially the gym are good. The gym has three Pelotons, a stair master, plenty of floor space, and a good selection of free weights. For strength equipment, though, it only has one cable machine and no dedicated machines for body work.

We stay here whenever we go to an event at the Moda Center, and we love it. Valet is easy, and they often have an event deal with two free drinks and late checkout, which feels luxurious. The TV has Chromecast, so we can stream the shows we watch at home. We sometimes get the vegan breakfast at the cafe, and it’s always yummy.

Check-in and checkout were easy, the restaurant food was good, and the bed mattress was the cleanest I’ve seen in a hotel, which earned an instant five stars from me. Free breakfast would’ve been nice, but otherwise it was literally perfect.

I’d read reviews mentioning noise, so I called ahead and they kindly moved me up to the 12th floor. The service was excellent throughout, and my room was clean, modern, and comfortable. For tourists, the location is perfect: steps from the train station and the Moda Center, close to downtown but far enough away to avoid the chaos. There’s a $25 destination fee, which includes a day pass for the train and bus. Very convenient. Highly recommend!
