Pullman House Inn

I stayed upstairs in the room with a queen and king bed. It was comfortable and fine, and the hot water in both the shower and sink came through right away. Places like this often have weak water or take ages to get hot, but that wasn’t an issue here. Jan, the innkeeper and owner, makes breakfast in the morning, and waffles are her specialty. It’s nice to sit and chat with her. The rooms have what you need, and the little town is fun. The Western Pacific Railroad Museum is down the street, where you can even rent a locomotive to drive on the tracks. Worth staying! 8-17-23: We stayed another night with Jan and were happy again. She’s been running the inn for 30 years and works there every day, looking after the old building and every part of the operation. She’s polite and happy to chat at length with guests, and she’ll make you a waffle in the morning. Go and enjoy!

During my visit, a distant wildfire caused an unexpected power outage. Jan made sure everyone had lanterns, flashlights, and the safety gear they needed. She was a great host and made wonderful waffles for breakfast. I’m looking forward to coming back.

Jan helped make our late arrival possible and easy. She made us breakfast and gave us advice about local things to do and places to visit. I accidentally left one of my favorite sweaters at a local shop while trying on clothes. Jan went there, found it, and mailed it to my home. I really appreciate the extra effort.

Jan welcomed us, and check-in and checkout were easy. We had a great night at the Pullman house, with rooms that had everything we needed and more. The Inn is between our two favorite golf courses, about a 10-minute drive to Grizzly Ranch and a little less to Nakoma. I’d guess the Graeeagle courses are about 20 minutes away. We love the area’s quiet and nearby golf. There’s a pizza restaurant and a market across the street, plus a really groovy thrift shop if you’re there Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. We took our pizza across the road and watched a train pull in for the night. We also visited the Clio Trestle for a great view of the pines. The Pullman House Inn made our golf trip more special and affordable. We hope to visit again soon.
