Economy INN poteau

The welcoming feel here is wonderful. The staff are understanding and make you feel like part of a family while still running things professionally. Whatever the situation, management tries to help, offer advice, or point you toward resources.

The smell inside was awful, and as we were leaving, a woman stopped us and said we should be glad we weren’t staying because the rooms were disgusting. At the desk, the staff were extremely rude and barely spoke English. The woman called her husband to run my card, and he charged me three times. When I pointed it out, they called their son, who was even ruder and accused me of lying. They kept saying they hadn’t done it, so I called my bank right there and got the charges removed. Then the woman said she was calling the police. I’d tell people never to stay here.

I stayed almost six weeks. The owners said they weren’t the owners and worked for someone else. After I left, someone apparently went into the room and broke the TV, and I was told I owed money for it. I’ve heard this place is a dive motel and that the broken TV charge is a scam. They first wanted $250, which seemed outrageous. I offered $40 because it was cold and I didn’t want to keep arguing there with six police officers. She agreed, and I got in my vehicle and left. Let them try to sue me.

It’s an older inn, but it’s been upgraded nicely and was very clean. The owner/manager was super friendly, hospitable, and did what they could to meet our needs. The price was especially good. I’ll be back when I’m in the area again, and I will be.
