Hampton Inn & Suites Poughkeepsie

We were given the Culinary Institute of America suite, which thrilled my husband since he works in operations at the CIA. It was clean, spacious, well stocked, and had wonderfully comfortable beds and pillows. We’re local, but wanted a restaurant suggestion, and the front desk recommended Texas Roadhouse and gave us a 10% off coupon for hotel guests. That was a nice extra. We stayed on New Year’s Eve, a busy night because the hotel partnered with a local restaurant for a discounted rate and complimentary rides to and from the venue. I wasn’t attending that event, but staff still gave me their full attention and reassured me my stay would be pleasant. They handled the busy hotel with patience and professionalism, and check-in through check-out was flawless. Hampton Inn of Poughkeepsie is top notch! I had an upgraded suite on the top floor Sunday night. The room was pleasant, spacious, and clean. I noticed a wall thermostat issue and a flickering bulb, and the staff responded by offering relief. Hope to return.

The staff were friendly and helpful, including with restaurant suggestions. The location worked well for us, with easy drives to the Poughkeepsie Galleria and other shopping and restaurants. Getting in and out was simple, with front entrances and a back way behind the bank at the light. The room was clean, with a big screen TV and mini refrigerator. Outlets and USB plugs were conveniently placed by the bed, beside the dresser/TV stand, and at the desk, so there was plenty of room to charge devices. The AC worked efficiently and warmed the room quickly when temperatures dropped at night. The bed was a bit too soft for us, though still comfortable enough. There wasn’t much counter space by the sink, barely enough for a couple of toothbrushes. The rooms also weren’t well insulated for noise. There was a wedding on, and partygoers in the hall woke us up. I could also hear the neighbor’s music through the bathroom wall.

Indira Naidu, the director of sales and marketing, was a huge help as we planned our wedding weekend. She made sure things went smoothly for us and our guests, and helped arrange an after party on the back patio. It had a great atmosphere, and our guests enjoyed continuing the celebration at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus for us and our guests.
