The floors were so filthy that after my sister walked barefoot for about 15-20 minutes, her feet looked like they’d been dipped in charcoal. I kept my socks on all night after that. Our room wasn’t awful apart from the floors, and I didn’t see the mold mentioned in other reviews, though other rooms could have it. With the District 8 people staying there, the place felt unsafe and looked gross to some people. Be cautious and LOCK. YOUR. CAR. There was no fridge in our room, so we had to buy cooler boxes and bags of ice from a local store. Furniture was scarce and uncomfortable, with only one disgusting chair. Some of us had to sleep on the floor in sleeping bags. The bed had just one sheet and a thin blanket, and it was very uncomfortable. My dad woke with back sores after sleeping there. He said springs dug into his skin and back, waking him during the night. Bring your own blankets and cleaning supplies for the dirty floors. You may need a cooler for food if your room has no fridge. Lock both your car and room doors. Or just don’t stay here, which is my best tip.

Room 5 was clean and nice, with a comfortable bed and chairs. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and breakfast had plenty of tasty choices. We also had a beautiful view of the Taconic range. A very nice stay.

We had booked to check in around 11pm/12am but arrived at 1am. Amar had waited for us until 12.30pm, then still got up in the middle of the night so we could check in. He was friendly and helpful, and I can’t thank him enough for working with us. The room and bed were clean, and I enjoyed the stay. I’d gladly return if I needed to.

The room smelled strongly of mold and mildew, with dirty, stained floors and chipped, peeling walls. Bathroom tiles were missing, and the toilet only flushed sometimes. Towels were just rehung instead of replaced, even when we left them on the floor. The managers seemed to speak almost no English and didn’t know much about the area. Breakfast was the same six supermarket croissants put out each day, and the coffee was stale, gritty dishwater. This was truly one of the worst places we’ve stayed in the USA. Their motto is “a taste of country living,” which made me wonder what third world country they meant.
