AmericInn by Wyndham Prairie du Chien

I was there on a quiet midweek stay in January, and the rate was very reasonable. The room and the rest of the interior had been updated more than I expected. Everything was clean and stocked with the usual things, including a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There was a nicely sized TV with a fair number of channels. The bathroom was another pleasant surprise, especially the roomy shower. I didn't try the breakfast, though American hotels usually have a decent spread of things like cereal, fruit and muffins. I'd recommend giving it a try, and I'd stay again if I'm back in the area.

The breakfast was fantastic, with cereal, waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage to choose from, and the price was reasonable too. We also spent the evening in the pool and hot tub. Our room was clean, and the front desk gentleman was polite and professional. The lobby was tidy and decorated for autumn. We felt welcome as soon as we walked in while passing through Prairie du Chien, and we'll come back next time we're nearby.

The room was very clean and great, and the service staff were kind and helpful. I wanted to ask whether an envelope with pictures was found in my room. If it was, I'd be very grateful if you could mail it to me. Thanks, Ronald Beck 1608 Lindsay Way Waukesha, WI. 53186

I had to cancel because of an illness in the family. The front desk CSR did cancel it, but seemed reluctant and said I should've done it 24 hours earlier. My confirmation email clearly said I could cancel for free until 6:00 PM that day. The booking site and the business need to get on the same page about the cancellation policy.
