Super 8 By Wyndham Prairie Du Chien

The bed and pillows were fine, and the woman at the front desk was polite and helpful. Still, I'd look for another hotel if you have a choice. The room smelled overwhelming whenever we came back in, maybe stale smoke, though I don't know. The bathroom door handle was nearly falling off and the door wouldn't close. It looked like some maintenance had been done, but the walls hadn't been properly repaired or painted. There was garbage and junk at the end of the hall. Otherwise, this would've been a one-star stay.

The room was orderly, very clean, and excellent, and housekeeping made sure we had what we needed. Breakfast was perfect as well. The place had a great atmosphere, which I think came from the pride Ramon took in running the hotel.

We requested a recliner, and it was really comfortable. Ramon in particular was friendly, as was the rest of the staff. The only downside was having to use the stairs to the second floor, since there was no elevator. Breakfast was great, and the serving area was clean.

My room had a second door straight out to the parking lot, so I could leave my car right beside it and load or unload easily. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were helpful and great. Restaurants, convenience stores, and gas stations are nearby, with easy highway access. A great place to stay.
