Motel 6 Prescott, AZ

I will never stay at this hotel again. In 2023, I was staying there long term with my daughter and our belongings. I went to Circle K one block away at 2 a.m. to get antacids, and when I came back, three men were in my room. One shot at me, then fired again when my dog lunged at him. The dog chased him away, and one of the other men left during the altercation. When I went back to call 911, I realized one man was still lying in my bed. SWAT arrived and took them into custody. They reviewed the security footage and saw I had been broken into and shot at. The next day, the manager said we had to leave because the disturbance had made guests leave and demand refunds, costing the hotel money. I’m disabled and had to pack everything at the last minute, and my daughter missed work. I didn’t know I could sue until the statute of limitations had passed. I went through extreme emotional and psychological trauma. The hotel had posted “24 HOUR SECURITY ON THE PROPERTY,” but there were cameras and nobody came to help. The footage showed the whole incident, and the owner/manager, E.J., was sleeping in a room on the property. Police had to keep calling him before he knew anything had happened. The staff had seemed friendly and accommodating, but the A/C didn’t work properly and the shower water temperature kept changing. I wish I’d known sooner that I could have done something. I hope nobody else experiences anything like this or worse. Please research before staying anywhere.

We had a great experience here, with no complaints. Everyone we dealt with was amazing and had excellent customer service. The rooms were clean, the water was hot, and the beds were nice. This is easily the best Motel 6 I’ve stayed at.

It took three rooms before I found one I could use. The first had no water at the sink, and in the second, the card reader showed green but the door was locked from the inside. There was a pile of dog shit outside the third room, but at least that one was usable.

I’ve stayed in Motel 6 locations across the country, and this one was a pleasant surprise. It’s good value, with clean rooms, friendly service, solid WiFi, and a small outdoor pool that was clean. Downtown Prescott is close by. My only criticism is that the guest above me was loud, though that wasn’t really the motel’s fault.
