The three-bedroom, three-bath condo/townhouse was very nice and had full laundry facilities. My only complaint was the bath towels. They were really thin and didn't absorb water well, possibly because they were rinsed with fabric softener. It also got very warm and humid, and there was no air-conditioning.

The inside was clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, and the area is good. We recommend walking to Puu Poa beach. But the outdoor setup really detracted from our stay. The website advertises “3 lanais,” including spaces by the kitchen and two bedrooms. By the kitchen there was only a tiny deck, just enough for a couple of chairs. We had to ask for a table, and the one they brought was only big enough for coffee. There was no room to eat together or play games. Outside the bedrooms, the concrete strip was about one foot wide and had no furniture. There were only four chairs at the indoor kitchen table, even though the home is meant to sleep six. Also, motorized vehicles and gardening equipment made a lot of noise, with loud leaf blowers and carts going around for hours each morning.

The kitchen was so well stocked and equipped that a few people commented on it. This resort-like condo was a very nice, split-level home that could easily sleep six, with good electronics, an office, a garage, and a nearby pool. The leasing firm was excellent, though better instructions for the HCVA would have helped. Having a car included made it feel like both a retreat and a base for exploring a beautiful setting. Golf, the seashore, and kayaking are close by. I wished this company were elsewhere.

It's a nice little community of townhomes, most of them used as vacation rentals, with attractive golf course and mountain views. The pool and clubhouse are centrally located. Parking is a real thing to watch, though: spaces are small and limited, and the rules are strictly enforced. Guest parking is by the pool, so take care if you're driving a large vehicle.

It was a nice spot to wander around, even though there wasn’t much within walking distance. I stayed in a condo rented through VRBO. The area was quiet and well kept, and it made a good base for the sights and attractions on the north side of Kauai. The shops up the road cover most everyday needs, but prices are lower if you head farther east.
