Cape Colony Inn

For a moderately priced hotel or motel in a very expensive holiday destination, this is five-star value. The rooms are spacious, the amenities more than sufficient, and the staff are tremendous, cheerful, and helpful. Downtown is a short walk away.

A great deal for such an inexpensive inn. I stayed one night and had a very good visit. It’s well located on the Cape, close to Provincetown, and parking is free and convenient. Booking through the website also got us a free bag of sparkling water and snacks at check-in, a nice surprise. Pool towels were already in the room, and the woman at the desk was friendly, answered our questions, and helped make the stay easy. The complimentary breakfast is bare bones but sufficient, with covered and uncovered outdoor seating. Our double queen room was spacious, with a fridge and microwave, and the furniture seemed newer and was well maintained. The cabinet knob for the fridge was broken, so I had to pry it open with my fingers and find something to prop the door open. Both appliances were clean. I was surprised by how clean and new the room felt. The comforter was thick and comfortable, the bathroom and towels were clean, and the shower was very good. There was a shower mat, the water heated quickly, and the quiet wall A/C worked by remote. Each bed also had an adjustable reading light mounted above it. My only real complaint was a very strong smell when we first entered the room. I’m not sure what it was, but it faded after a minute or two.

The staff were excellent, very nice and helpful, and at first glance everything looked tidy. But cleanliness was a real concern. There seemed to be germs everywhere, even on the controller, and I found mold in the bathroom. The vending machine wouldn’t take dollar bills or credit cards, so I had to go to the front desk three times for a cold drink. Luckily the staff helped, though they only had $3 worth of quarters left. The pool didn’t look well maintained either, with a stained bottom and unusual bubbles in the water. Breakfast was disappointing and the selection was very limited. There weren’t proper plates for making oatmeal. More options like granola bars, danishes, or a wider range of muffins would improve it. The beds are awesome, and you’ll sleep like a baby. The rooms are spacious, there’s a huge swimming pool, and the place is exquisite. It’s conveniently located near everything, and Cape Colony Inn is the absolute best hotel in P Town! I can’t get enough of it. I’m totally obsessed with Provincetown too. P Town is the perfect vacation destination, and I totally recommend it. Get your best friends together and visit Provincetown for a nonstop fabulous time!
