The sandwiches really are delicious, which is why I wanted to like this place. But the owner's treatment of us outweighed the food, and after giving her three chances, I'm done spending money there. On my first visit, my 87-year-old father mentioned in passing that he hadn't known the business was there. The owner yelled at him about how long it had been open and listed other places she owned. He was left feeling embarrassed and ignorant. My latest visit was the last straw. I had flown in from Las Vegas and wanted to get sandwiches with my parents, both in their 80s. They have trouble standing for long, so while I placed the order, they sat for a short time in the dining area. They were the only customers there. The owner immediately yelled that they couldn't sit unless we ordered from the dinner menu. My father politely explained that we were getting sandwiches and that his daughter had just flown in. She said that didn't matter, and that without a dinner-menu order, we had to leave. We ended up eating in the car in the middle of winter. Good food doesn't excuse disrespectful, unkind treatment, especially of elderly customers. The lack of compassion shocked me, and I won't be back.
