Coast Hilltop Inn

Breakfast is included, with bagels, a waffle iron, and frozen breakfast sandwiches to heat up. The room seemed clean, but it needs refurbishment. The bed was very firm, as were the flat pillows, and the sheet cover looked worn. The bathroom was clean, though paint was peeling from the molding. There was an odd stackable office chair where you'd expect an armchair. If you can, ask for a room without an adjoining door, since sound carries easily through it. It's an affordable place near WSU.

Kelly at the front desk works hard to make the hotel a welcoming place, and the staff are great. I was told at booking there'd be a continental breakfast, but it turned out to be a generous buffet with lots of choices, everything except meat. It was A+++. I stayed at the pullman Marriott some time ago and had a horrible experience there. They don't offer breakfast because there's a diner on site, and it's $$$$. I'm glad I could rest at Hilltop. It's cozy and comfortable, and I'll come back and encourage future guests of mine to stay too. Thanks!

The kids slept fine, but the beds were much too hard for me, so I didn't sleep well. During the few days we were there, the chlorine seemed quite high in both the pools and hot tub. The staff did their best to handle it with what they had.

This is great for WSU parents and families. The room on our first visit, on the third floor, was quiet and very clean. Breakfast was great, the staff incredible, and the pillows felt perfect. I think they were down or possibly down alternative, since I found a pink feather. The bed might not suit someone who likes gel memory foam, but I'd choose this place over where we stayed before. It met all our needs. There was a vending machine and ice machine by the elevator. Our second visit was good too. The third wasn't. Room 324 had a horribly noisy bathroom fan, and the next-door room complained about it too. We couldn't do much when using the bathroom or showering. I sent an email the day after checkout and followed up with my survey, but a week later I still hadn't heard back. There were other issues, but this one was annoying.
