Baymont by Wyndham Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte

The staff were very nice and breakfast was decent. There was plenty of space to relax, with a bedroom, kitchenette, and living room, and the bathroom was large. The shower head screw was stripped, though, so it wouldn’t stay in place. The pool and hot tub were cold, but we did get to soak up some sun by the pool.

I came for a one-night getaway, and check-in was easy. They even let me arrive early. The room was very clean and the pool was nice, though the weather didn’t cooperate for me. Breakfast was good too. All in all, everything was great. Thank you, I’d recommend staying here.

Mindy, the first person I spoke with, was phenomenal, and I booked a second night because of her. The woman who checked me in was lovely, quick, efficient, and treated me with care and respect. I asked for a door hanger and two towels, and got them without any problem. After that, I tried calling the front desk several times, but was put on hold and disconnected. I finally walked to the office to ask my question as a guest. The man there, whose name began with S, was hostile. He said people wanting to book rooms in the lobby took priority over existing guests, and that if I wanted VIP service, meaning someone answering the phone, I could go elsewhere. More than once he told me to leave and find another place if I wasn’t satisfied and wanted good service, even though I’d already paid for a couple of days. I stayed on May 1st 2026 and was supposed to stay until the 3rd. If you don’t want to feel bullied at a hotel by Wyndham, you may not want to stay here.

The beds and staff were nice, but the property was poorly kept. The ceiling corners weren’t clean, and the paint job was bad throughout. The hot tub water wasn’t hot, and breakfast ends at 9:30, even on weekends.
