The fireplace was a lovely place to sit and read, and my son enjoyed playing chess. We were comfortable as a family of four visiting Olympic National Park and Forks. The lodge was quiet and very clean, with a welcoming smell, maybe cinnamon. Having the fridge, coffee bar, and microwave was handy, especially since I brought soup and our crockpot to warm up after rainy hikes.

This was my third trip here, and it still feels like coming home. The great room, watched over by that prize elk, has a warm cedar scent. It’s a distinctive place tucked away in the forest, perfect for outdoor lovers who enjoy a rustic setting. I love it.

We loved the quiet, secluded setting and the outdoor balcony deck, which was great for coffee and taking in the surroundings. Everything we needed was there, including a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, plates, and utensils, plus comfy chairs and a dining table. Games, books, and a record player with a great music collection added to the charm. It felt like living in a movie. The room was clean and had a cozy, eclectic look. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and even the soft towels matched the room’s colors. From check-in onward, the place felt special. It’s a comfortable and charming stay we’ll remember.

Rialto beach is so close that we could easily go tide pooling at 6am. Our upstairs room in the main lodge was just right for my husband, daughter, and me, with a little seating area outside that had a fridge and microwave. Since food options nearby were limited, we picked up supplies at the market in Forks and kept them there. The magnificent main room has games, puzzles, and lots of places to sit. Instructions were clear, getting around was easy, and we were very comfortable. Such a delightful find, and I’d highly recommend it!

The lodge bathrooms are locked with a code, and when we asked for it, we were told we couldn’t use them. That left us with a port-a-potty that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, with a pile of feces and black widows in the corners. The sink was so tiny it was almost impossible to use comfortably. We also couldn’t get a usable internet connection. There was no signal, and though we connected to Wi-Fi, both the reception and connection were too poor to help us stay in touch with loved ones or distract ourselves from the experience. We came expecting a romantic cabin getaway with my wife, but this killed the mood. Within an hour we were talking about walking away from the money we’d paid and finding somewhere else with basic necessities for far less. We paid a premium for what we got, and I felt cheated. It was ridiculous and downright fraud. I’d highly recommend going anywhere else. They use three different names, Outback Too Rustic/Manitau Lodge/Whiskey Creek Beach, which seems telling when it comes to hiding the reviews.
