Americas Best Value Inn Crabtree/Raleigh

At $191 for two nights, I expected a bit more. The room was very bare, with hardly any character and no alarm clock; neither nightstand had one. The pillows were about half the size of normal ones, and the ironing board was dirty and covered with burn marks. There were shampoo and body wash dispensers, but no lotion. When we asked at the desk, they told us to walk across the street to the Hampton Inn because it had a little store. The microwave and mini fridge were the only things I liked. We'd asked for a non-smoking room, but ours smelled strongly of smoke, and staff said none were left. We were on the top floor, and with no elevator we had to haul our bags up a narrow stairwell. Parking was awful too. When we came back from dinner at 9:45, there were no spaces, so my husband dropped me off and parked across the street. I was wrong to expect more. I won't stay here again.

The rooms were clean, with updated bathroom fixtures, strong air conditioning, and plenty of drawer space. The exterior was well lit, had adequate parking, and was clean; inside, the shared spaces were tidy and furnished nicely, with some artwork. Chris and the staff made my stays very pleasant over several shortened weeks in June 2015. I'd recommend this place for a decent extended stay with dependable customer service.

The staff here are the friendliest and most helpful I've come across at any place I've stayed. The rooms are on the smaller side, though not tiny, and they've been remodeled and kept very clean. The location is convenient but tucked away from the busy areas, so it's quiet. Whether you're here for vacation, work, or just a peaceful night, this place should make you happy. Don't be put off by the name or price, it's a hidden gem in Raleigh. Great job, and thank you.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked. Staff were friendly, the shower had hot water, and the TV kept me entertained. Getting around was easy too. I stayed here while moving from Boston to Raleigh, and it turned out much better than I expected. If I need a place here again, I think I'll have another good stay.
