Fairfield Inn & Suites Raleigh Durham Airport/ Brier Creek

The staff were attentive and professional, the breakfast area was very clean, and the food was pretty good. Still, the room furniture showed heavy wear and should be replaced or upgraded. We stayed five days. The light above the bathroom sink went out after the first day. We requested repairs THREE TIMES and were reassured each time that it would be handled, but it never was. As someone who often stays at Marriott Properties and visits the Raleigh-Durham area, this was LESS than I expect.

The rate was great, and the location worked well for us. We also appreciated the hot tub, little pool, and complimentary water. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was so clean, which I really loved. I stayed two nights, three days and enjoyed it overall. The breakfast was the downside: it seemed exactly the same each morning, and I wish there had been more variety. The hotel was accommodating, and I’d recommend it.

Our three-day stay had a lot of problems. We never had the room cleaned, the hot tub looked milky, and the pool wasn't clean. The elevator made a worrying noise for the first two days, then had an out-of-order sign on the third. Breakfast looked nice, but they ran out of eggs on the first morning and said there weren't any more. The first night there was no heat. We asked to move, but were told the hotel was overbooked and maintenance had gone home. We reported it again the next day and were told it would be handled. When we got back, the desk clerk hadn't heard about it and the heat still wasn't fixed. They offered another room, but we had to wait while the clerk helped two other guests first. She was trying her best with phone calls and three more guests waiting behind us. The staff were congenial, but didn't or couldn't follow through on our concerns. I mentioned the issues at checkout and received a minimal number of Marriott points.

I won't be staying at this hotel again. On our first visit two weeks ago, my husband and I stayed overnight and paid to leave our car for the week. When we called for the airport shuttle after we returned, it took 42 minutes. I called every 15 minutes and was told each time that it was on its way. We stayed again this past week and paid for parking once more. The shuttle took 22 minutes this time, which wasn't bad, but when we got back our vehicle had been broken into and vandalized. The window was completely shattered and gone. They said they had called me, though I had no missed calls. They offered only two towels for us to sit on. We had to stop at Walmart for plastic and tape so we could make the 1.5-hour drive home. There was no complimentary anything, even though I'm a platinum member. My safety is now at risk. I'm very disappointed in you, Marriott.
