Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh - Crabtree Valley

The location is fine, close to the mall, and the staff were kind and apologetic, but there didn't seem to be much urgency when problems came up. For a Hilton, the condition was shocking. Stains were all over: bleach marks up and down the hallways, and dark or water stains on ceilings, walls, elevator floors, and the room floor. The room looked somewhat clean at first, but the shower had hair all over it and the floor was nasty and obviously hadn't been cleaned, as shown in the photo. Our room and the hallway smelled like marijuana. The toilet also randomly stopped up and wouldn't flush. I called the desk and asked for a plunger, but they said they'd look for one. They called back to say they couldn't find one, leaving moving rooms as the only option. It was past midnight, and my 88-year-old grandmother was already asleep. These are only some examples. This is honestly the dirtiest, worst Hilton I've stayed in, and it was very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you can avoid it.

The staff have been good, and being right by a mall is convenient. That’s about all I can praise. The building is old and worn, with water stains on ceilings, mildew smells in the halls, and walls that need fresh paint and wallpaper. My room had a dishwasher that held standing water and started to stink, dingy old covers, and a shower rod barely attached after a repair. The curtain was too short, so water went onto the floor. The photos online are misleading, and for this price there are much better choices. I travel for work and have stayed in plenty of hotels. This is the worst Hilton property I’ve experienced, and far below other Homewood Suites I’ve visited. The fire alarm went off roughly every eight hours, including overnight, and rang for about ten minutes each time. The basement gym was very dated, missing dumbbells and apparently much of its equipment. There were no wipes, everything felt sticky, and a leaking water machine had left mildew on the floor beside the treadmill. Breakfast was especially poor, with what looked like steamed chicken patties like a McChicken, tater tots, and frozen omelets. I only stayed because I was busy with work and couldn’t change hotels. Marriott is always better than Hilton, and I won’t stay with this brand again.

The hotel feels a little dated, but the Sales Coordinator who helped our ncsu group really stood out. She was so polite and kind, and made everything easy for us. She stayed professional while also seeming genuinely caring. I travel a lot, and she was one of the nicest people I’ve met.

Zaynab at the front desk made the stay even better. She was kind, professional, and ready to help whenever needed. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well organized, and I had a great time there.
