It was quiet and beautiful here, and we had no problems with noise between rooms despite seeing complaints about that. Our family of four fit comfortably in the two bedroom unit, with two balconies. The beds were comfortable, the couch was large, and there was a table for six where we could eat full meals. The kitchen had plenty stocked, even salt and pepper. Mountains are nearby, and Lake Poway was 45 minutes away for fishing. There was an Albertsons there too. Pool towels were provided. The pool is a five minute drive away rather than on site, but that was no big deal. Zero complaints.

The location is cool, the rooms are nice, and the people are cool too. But the property is dated, and the stairs need safety attention, with rusty nails and rotted wood. The texts telling me to clean up my room and pick up after myself were annoying. The $50 daily resort fee, the room cost, and a $200 incidental hold felt ridiculous. No pets kinda sucks, too. The lady seemed rude, like she didn't want to answer questions about the room.

Inside, the rooms are okay and nice enough to stay in, but the shower runs out of hot water. There are no pools on site, so you have to drive 2 miles to the community pool. HOA owners looked at us like we didn't belong, even though we were paying. Haha. I wouldn't recommend it for little kids or a summer stay. Front desk hours are a real problem. They close at 5pm, and if you arrive late and don't go in by 11am the next morning to get your keys, they say there's a 50$ fee. Why would I want to go early the next morning just to get another set of keys? There's a lot more bad stuff I don't want to write about. I won't stay here again and don't recommend it.

The pool and hot tub were so far away that we had to drive. I've never stayed somewhere where they weren't within walking distance. The units also didn't seem well maintained. The TVs were tiny and very old, and you had to press the remotes again and again to change channels. The kitchen sink leaked, and it seemed staff already knew because there was a pan underneath to catch the water.

On my first visit, San Diego Country Estates felt peaceful and welcoming right away. The scenery is lovely, the community is well kept, and the relaxed atmosphere made it easy to unwind. I took my family there for a staycation and we had a wonderful time. There are nearby trails and outdoor activities, plus quiet surroundings that make it a restful getaway. Everyone I met was friendly, and the place has a laid back charm. My vacation there left a great impression, and I'd recommend it if you're after a scenic, relaxing place to stay.
