We eventually had a good stay, thanks to the second front desk associate, who was very sweet. Her computer took ages to start up and open her account, so she waived the $20 parking fee to make up for the wait. The start was rough. We arrived a little early, and before the first associate checked who we were or noticed our silver status, they said early check-in would cost $25. At other Hiltons, we'd either get a ready room or wait. If they'd needed to prepare one especially for us, I could understand a charge, but that wasn't what we were asking. Just be aware if you request an early check-in.

The tub didn't drain, so by the end of my shower the water was up to my calves. The AC and heater also put out a horrible urine smell. I suspect there may have been mold or bacteria in the HVAC from trapped moisture, perhaps a clogged filter or backed-up drain pan, but I can't say for sure. We asked to move rooms and were told none were available. We couldn't open the window, so we slept uncomfortably with the HVAC off. Staff didn't offer any discount. I was only asking politely for compensation after things went wrong, I wasn't being a Karen.

The breakfast was a letdown. One morning they served children's chicken nuggets instead of the usual hot items like eggs, potatoes, bacon, or sausage. I raised my concerns with the general manager at checkout and got the parking fee waived, which I appreciated. I still like Hilton and Hampton Inn overall, but this location has lost the Hilton touch and needs a corporate inspection and serious updates. The property looks worn inside and poorly maintained. From the main entrance, we could see a second-floor window had been completely removed by a guest, which was surprising at a Hilton-brand hotel. Our room felt dated, too. There was a long black hair on the clean towels, the lotion dispenser over the sink was nearly pulled out, and the metal sink legs were rusty. The bathroom fan worked only sometimes, and when it did, it was loud and sounded close to failing. The bathroom nightlight was a cheap plug-in instead of the built-in outlet kind I usually see at Hilton hotels. A nightstand lamp bulb was out, and the alarm clock display was broken and hard to read. Most concerning, the window's fall-prevention latches were broken, and it seemed easy to detach, which felt unsafe, especially for families with kids. The hotel needs a full renovation and better upkeep.

Our vehicle was broken into after we paid for parking and were assured there was security in the lot. There apparently aren't cameras by the back doors on the rear side of the building, and they said they weren't responsible for stolen or missing items. Brianna told us we shouldn't have left anything in the vehicle, as if I could take the whole toolbox out of my truck and carry it upstairs. Save your money and vehicle and stay somewhere else.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. We did find a carpet beetle on our pillow, and the neighbors weren't great, though they kept quiet between 10 and 6, so I can't complain too much.
