TownePlace Suites by Marriott Sacramento Rancho Cordova

The room was clean, and the hotel was pretty quiet. Breakfast was included, though I’m not sure why parking costs extra when the lot belongs to the hotel and the area isn’t busy. I get annoyed when hotels nickel and dime guests for parking. I was here for work, and the room was meant to go on the corporate card already on file. There was a mix-up: the person who checked me in wasn’t familiar with the process, and my card was charged for the room instead of being used only for incidentals. I had to get up early the next morning to sort it out at the front desk, and fixing it took about 20 minutes.

The rooms were huge and brand new, and the staff treated us with respect. Breakfast had lots of choices, and the kids had fun making their own waffles. Such a beautiful place, with excellent service.

We stayed three nights in a two-bed queen room at Townhouse Suites in Rancho Cordova. It was brand new and very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. They even put the week’s weather by the elevator, which was cute. Breakfast was fantastic, much better than the usual hotel spread. There’s no pool, but the rest made up for it. The smoke alarms are very sensitive, so cover them and you’re good. I’d recommend it for business or leisure.

I work out of town on swing shift and stay here all the time, usually calling ahead each week to ask about early check-in. This time I was told I could arrive after 12, but after driving five hours I was turned away and told I’d been given wrong information. That’s horrible service. Johnisha was rude when I asked why I’d been told early check-in was okay. I said I’m a Marriott member and asked to speak with the GM. She said she was the supervisor and I could speak with her or schedule a later date to speak with the GM. When I asked for the GM’s contact details, she said she had none to give. This place is very unprofessional, and I’ll make sure my company hears about it.
