Vagabond Inn Executive Rancho Cordova

The TV was a nice surprise: I could log into Netflix, and the DIRECTV apps had plenty of shows for my son. We also had lots of nearby places to eat. Breakfast was enjoyable, with a good selection, and the staff member I saw handling breakfast and cleaning downstairs was friendly and efficient. Her daughters were around for a couple of the days we stayed. We had two double beds, a hot shower, and a generally clean room, though I did notice a few small blood spots on one bed. Housekeeping came while we were out and mostly made the bed and swept. The room worked well for me and my son, and we enjoyed our three-day break. It got noisy at times. There seemed to be a baseball tournament group staying there, the people above us walked heavily, and some guests smoked in the hallway over the railing and coughed through the night. At breakfast, I also saw guests licking their fingers before touching utensils, leaving food lids open, and coughing near the buffet. That's on those guests, not the hotel. We ended up here after the place next door apparently couldn't find my reservation. My son and I arrived just after midnight, tired and wanting to clean up and sleep. I'd booked the weekend, then added another night. I was also disappointed about the $50 gift card: I booked at the last minute before joining, and signing up later meant changing the reservation, which sounded complicated. I missed out on points for the stay. Still, this was a hit for us, and I'd recommend it. The staff I noticed were helpful and welcoming, including the breakfast attendant, whose first language I don't think was English.
