The haddock chowder was pretty bland, so I had to add a good amount of salt and pepper. I also didn't get much interaction from the bartender. I just sat at the bar for soup and a couple of beers, and can't comment on the rooms. It's a nice little spot, though a bit fancy.

Our waitress kept things fun and was attentive, and both meals were delicious. I asked the chef to change a few things in mine, and they took the time to prepare it even better than I'd requested. My husband and I had dinner here last night, and it made our evening. We'll be back.

The inn's downtown location meant there was plenty within walking distance, even in record-breaking cold. We also had easy parking and no trouble getting in despite all the snow. We were in Rangeley Inn & Tavern for four nights in January for a wedding there, and I was really impressed with the accommodations and service. When travel delays pushed us late, they offered a flexible check-in, and they fit us in for an extra night when the weather turned bad.

On one visit my phone charger broke, and the receptionist lent me her own so I could use Maps for the drive home. That kind of service is why Rangeley Inn is my go-to in the area. I've stayed there six different times, and the rooms are comfortable. The location is perfect for getting around Rangeley on foot.

Susan was so nice when we arrived, and the staff made us feel welcome right away. The inn has kept the charm of a place built in 1906 while being restored for modern times, and it's so clean. Our room was quiet and comfortable. We had breakfast both mornings and dinner one evening, and the food was delicious, much better than typical hotel fare. Mary, our bartender, was friendly and helpful. We loved this place so much. If you're local, I highly recommend the restaurant. I wish I could give it 10 stars.
