We stayed in the cottages on a winter ski trip and had a really nice time. The lake view was pretty, and Saddleback was about 15 minutes away. There was a grocery store nearby, plus a gas station and lots of restaurants. The cottage had comfortable beds, a ceiling fan, heat, a large TV, Wi-Fi, a fridge, and everything needed for cooking. The owner was friendly too. It's pet friendly, and we'd definitely stay again.

The rooms have been refurbished really well, and I love that this has stayed a family business since mid-century instead of being sold off to corporate outsiders. It's right on the lake, and I imagine the place is full of family energy in summer. I was there on a last-minute chance to get some snow at Saddleback, and I'll come back. The one drawback is truck noise from the main road outside. The whole town has that issue, so keep it in mind.

The cottage smelled very musty, the carpet was burned and dirty, and the couch had burn holes. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, the parking lot was full of potholes, and the place felt scary and dirty. The woman at the desk, who I assume was the owner, wasn't pleasant. The first room we were given was already occupied, then she moved us to the cottage. Booking has the reviews all wrong. Don't waste your money.

Our King room was clean and very comfortable for a weekend getaway. The mini kitchen had a toaster oven, blender, and a few dishes, and the grounds were clean too. It's right on the water and within walking distance of a few restaurants. We're already planning another weekend soon.

Right in town and on the lake, with Joey and his family as wonderful hosts. A wonderful place. Highly recommend.
