Red Bluff Inn

That $100 room deposit is a red flag to me. Holding onto people’s money at a place like this gives you a pretty clear idea of the kind of owners you’re dealing with. Nice hotels don’t need to do that, because they understand the cost of doing business.

We couldn’t get any rest, and left as soon as we could the next morning. The room was unbearably hot because the AC didn’t work at all, and opening the windows made no difference. We sweated through the night. There was also a terrible smell from the moment we walked in that never let up, and the towels looked very dirty, like they hadn’t been washed properly. This was honestly the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you want to be disappointed.

The AC was great, the mini fridge worked so well it froze everything lol, and the room was clean with a working TV. But the bed felt like something our grandparents slept in, and my daughter would’ve had to duck to use the shower. The ceiling fan was broken, the towels were barely bigger than hand towels, and we had to push the broken window from outside to close it. If you go to Red Bluff, seriously DO NOT stay at Red Bluff inn.

There are stores and food up the street, and I was passing through for fishing. The AC was great even though it was 104*. They’re remodeling, so the price will probably go up. The rooms are old but clean, and it’s inexpensive for a night. The towels were clean, though they had dark black and gray marks that wouldn’t come out in the wash. I bring my own body towels at older places, since I don’t expect a 4-5-star hotel. It was a nice stay and I’d come back.
