Home2 Suites by Hilton Redlands Loma Linda

Our first stay at a Home2, and we were impressed by how clean the hotel was, along with the room’s size and layout. It felt like our own little studio, with a full-size fridge and dishwasher. The complimentary breakfast had lots of choices, which was a big hit with our picky-eating kids. The hospitality staff kept everything replenished and were friendly and helpful with our requests. Tiffanie and Silvia were especially great. I’d recommend this location.

The property seems brand new, and the rooms were clean and in good shape. Breakfast was excellent. Still, the app experience and staff information need work, and Hilton Honors members should be recognized properly. I checked in through the Hilton app as usual, but never got a digital key. The desk told me to come show ID and provide payment details. As a Hilton Gold member with dozens of Hilton stays, I’d never had to do that before, and I told the agent, Angel, that I was tired from traveling and wanted to go straight to my room. Angel said my card had been declined, but I called my bank and confirmed that wasn’t true. I went to the desk anyway and completed check-in in person. Angel assured me the digital key would then appear in the app. The next morning it still wasn’t there. When I called to ask for it, I was again told to come to the desk. On the third day, we ran out of toilet paper and towels, and when I called for more, I got the same instruction to come by the desk. The stay itself was okay, but this was very different from my previous check-ins at other Hilton properties, where the app and key made things quick and convenient.

For our volleyball tournaments in San Bernardino, we stayed in Loma Linda for the first time. The room was clean and nice, and Angel at the front desk gave great service. Sylvia handled breakfast, which was the best we’ve had at a Home2 Suites compared with other locations. If you’re a light sleeper, avoid rooms facing the freeway because of the noise.

The room and bathroom were clean, and my truck and trailer were still there in the morning. I’d stopped here while driving through. Arriving at night, the location looked a little sketchy, but it turned out not to be bad. The hot breakfast was stale, though the yogurt was good.
