The Hub Motel

The outside looks a bit rough, but the room was great: clean, a comfortable bed, and no mold in the shower or anywhere else. Hotels and motels where I live in Vancouver. Wa seem to have a bit of a damp smell, so I appreciated that. The TV was a good size, the fridge was cold, and the air conditioner worked well. It was also very quiet for the location. The owner was a friendly, happy man. I highly recommend it.

Our flight was delayed, so we arrived late, and the man who checked us in was personable. The rate was very reasonable, which I appreciated. It’s a trade-off: the price is better, but you have to lower your standards. The motel feels like my grandma from the 60s, with a particular smell and plenty of age showing, almost one foot in the grave. Still, nearly everything worked, apart from an occasional dripping faucet and one boarded-up room someone had driven through. The room was worn but clean, the shower had good hot water and pressure, and the night was quiet. There’s also an amazing restaurant on the same lot. I’d stay again just for that food.

The guy at the office was helpful and moved us to another room. That one was clean-ish, though there was some kind of leak and the carpet by the bathroom door was soaked. It did the job since we only needed a place to sleep, and the customer service was good. The staff were friendly, but I don’t know what happened with the rooms. The first one looked like it had been left uncleaned for years. There was dirt and hair everywhere, and the bedspread had burn marks all over it. My small children wanted to leave and sleep in the car.

This is the cheapest motel in the town of redmond. The staff are surprisingly friendly and know their stuff. I’ve driven a lot of people here and recommend it.
