Best Western Inn

Breakfast was good, the pool looked well cared for, and the staff were attentive and helpful. We could also walk to some great restaurants, including Burma Spice and Noelani's. Still, we were disappointed to find an older motel with Best Western branding. The furniture and carpet were shabby, with soiled traffic areas that hid the original carpet pattern. Thin walls and ceilings carried conversations and footsteps clearly, bright light came through the shades all night, and horns from the nearby train tracks were audible. We booked for the in-room fridge and microwave, but the fridge didn’t work very well. For the price, we’d choose a Marriott or similar place if we return to the area.

The room was clean and quiet, and breakfast was good. It’s definitely a budget option, though. The Wi-Fi was bad, the front desk wasn’t fully staffed around the clock, and after a certain hour you have to buzz for someone. Once, the staff member was busy with something else. My keycard was easily demagnetized by my AirPods case. They also didn’t leave a toothbrush or toothpaste my first night, so I had to go to 7/11 to buy my own.

The pool and courtyard were peaceful, like an oasis in the city. Our room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. The staff were all super friendly, especially manager Bhavash. The location is hard to beat, right off El Camino and next door to Stacks, an amazing breakfast restaurant. San Jose and San Francisco are both about 30 minutes away. A hidden gem, and a fantastic stay for the price. I definitely recommend it.

It’s not the fanciest place, but the staff really take care of you. The front desk is always welcoming and accommodating, and housekeeping is top notch. They make sure we have towels and the room is clean. Parking is limited, though it’s never seemed to be a problem for me. This is probably my favorite Best Western in the country. I’ve stayed more than six times over the last three years and will keep booking here when I’m in the Bay Area.
