We loved the lobby, at least, apart from the argument happening there. After a terrible experience at St Anna's house, which we learned was dirty and infested with roaches, we arrived here around 11 p.m. looking for a room. The owners were fighting in a room behind the front desk. I rang the bell and told the woman we needed a hero after what we'd just dealt with. She started crying and said she wasn't sure she could help because she had her own problems. Then she went back behind the door and kept arguing with her husband or boyfriend for another ten minutes, so we left to find somewhere else. She came out and followed us to the car, trying to get us to return. We felt bad for her and hope she finds peace. Still, it would've helped if she'd just given us a room before continuing the fight. Good luck to her, we're praying for you, homie.

The location was fairly good, but the manager's behavior was unexpected. We had booked a room for a long weekend, and she charged us but refused to give us one. Based on what happened to us, I really wouldn't recommend it.

The hotel had a cool historic feel, but the bed was a biohazard. We checked the mattress after going upstairs, as we do wherever we stay, and the hotel offered to move us to another room but said refunds weren't available. We chose to check out and stay somewhere else. The front desk had been super nice, so I wanted to love the place, but I was disappointed.

The rooms are small because that's how they were designed when the historic hotel was built, and the place has been kept to show its history. My mom was clean and cozy. I woke once when a hot rod drove down the street, but in a small town it didn't seem likely to be very noisy. I read the reviews and nearly passed on staying here, but I liked Hotel Burgess very much. If you want a big, updated room, go find a Hilton somewhere else. If you enjoy an eclectic historic place, this hotel is for you.

The town itself is noisy, but otherwise I had a nice stay. The room was clean, the water was hot, and they gave me extra pillows when I asked. It's a wonderful, very unique hotel if that's what you're after. No complaints.
