Bay Motel

The quiet out in this rural spot made for a peaceful stay, and check-in was easy. Everyone we met was pleasant. The renovated room felt clean and welcoming, with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and the beds and blankets were comfortable. It got a bit chilly at night, so we turned on the wall heater/air conditioner. It was one of the quietest units we’ve come across while traveling. We also treated ourselves to dinner by the water at Crazy Crab and caught a lovely sunset.

The beach decor gave the room a cute, cozy feel. We were told the motel has new management, and it looks like they’re working on updates and repairs. The room and bathroom were clean, and the heat worked great with no drafts, which I was glad about given how cold it was last weekend. They had Maxwell house coffee and Coffee Mate creamer in the room. We were there for a quick weekend getaway.

Our room was comfortable, clean, and quiet, with everything working and no issues during our stay. After a few years when things seemed a little sketchy, it’s good to have a decent place here again, especially at a great location and price. New manager Alexis and her family are putting in a lot of work to bring the motel back.

We only needed somewhere to sleep for the night, and it did the job. Check-in went well, and we thought the room was clean. It’s out in the middle of nowhere. The next morning, though, we woke up covered in bites from head to toe. I’m assuming they were bed bug bites. There isn’t much we can do about it now, but I wanted guests and staff to know.
