Henlopen Unit 701 by Long & Foster

UPDATE: Management got in touch and resolved the problem. Thank you! The location is nice, but the cleaning was poor and management seemed not to care. When we entered the unit, it was clear the cleaning had been cursory. Both bathrooms were awful, with urine stains on and around the toilets and lots of dirt and hair on the floor, as shown in the pictures. We spent the first hour of our vacation cleaning the whole apartment ourselves so we’d feel safe there. Before we arrived, they’d warned that check-in might be delayed until 6 p.m. to allow extra cleaning because of the virus. The check-in envelope also said to report cleaning concerns by 3 p.m. the next day. We emailed the assigned rental agent and the general address the following morning, with photos, but heard nothing for a full week. Given the circumstances, we expected extra care with cleaning and at least a follow-up within a day or so. Nothing happened. We’re back from vacation now, and our 4-year-old son has a runny nose and other flu-like symptoms. I hope this gives you food for thought when choosing somewhere to stay safely during a virus outbreak.
