The room and the whole stay felt unsafe and badly neglected. There were cracks in the plaster, signs of water damage, and rough patches painted a different color without the original texture. The bathroom water smelled like dirt or mildew, and the shower controls were reversed, hot came out cold and cold came out hot. Plaster was missing around the light fixtures, one light didn't work, and two switch plates had been stacked over each other. Outside, the parking lot looked more like a furniture and tire junkyard than the clean property shown online. I had booked a non-smoking king room, and although four were listed as available, I was told, “it's all we had.” The sheets reeked of cigarettes, and one bed had stains all over them. I was so uneasy I checked for bedbugs for the first time in my life. We had already paid and planned to leave in the morning, but I felt sketchy about staying. At 9 a.m. someone woke us by hammering and breaking down furniture. I chose it for one night during a road trip because the photos looked nice and the reviews weren't terrible. I should have read the bad reviews. The building may once have looked like the pictures, but it doesn't now. I wouldn't wish this place on anyone, and I'm honestly considering calling the city code and health inspectors.
The shower didn't work, and the bed had only a top sheet. The walls were scuffed and damaged, and there was a gap beneath the door. Before checkout time, the cleaner opened my door without knocking while I was still in the room.
Spare tires and shopping carts were right outside our room, and inside it smelled awful, with bugs around too. From the photos, the room seemed like it was falling apart. The whole place felt like it might actually be housing homeless people. When I complained, the front desk person told me the devil would make “bad things” happen to me. Such a weird experience. Avoid it.
The room smelled strongly of marijuana and cigarettes as soon as I walked in. There was a burn hole in one of the blankets, stains on the other bed, and a purple Trojan condom wrapper in the trash. Later, a family member spotted a used condom outside our door. When it got cold, the heat wouldn't turn on. There were scooters outside my room that weren't ours, and the hotel looked very outdated as I pulled into the lot. Spend the extra $20 and stay somewhere nicer. Do not stay here.
There were roaches, dirty sheets, messy floors, and old dog food behind the dresser. Something also sounded like it was living in the balcony above my room. The housekeepers were nasty and rude. I had to clean the room with their towel, and a housekeeper had a problem with me doing that. Checkout is supposed to be at 11, but someone knocked at 9:52 and woke me up to ask if I was leaving, even though they knew I was checking out that day. He said he planned to move someone in at noon, leaving only an hour and a half to clean the room. I have three kids. No, don't come to this hotel. It's horrible.
