Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Richardson at Spring Valley

The rooms are whisper quiet, and the property's already good soundproofing feels even better with the new carpeting, like walking on a cloud. Everything from the lobby and lounge to the rooms and suites was recently renovated. The bathrooms look great, with modern walk-in showers. It feels like a much more expensive resort.

The AC went out one night, but the staff moved us straight away to a nearby room. The service was top notch, and the staff were great. The rooms were very clean, and I have no other complaints. I also loved the cute fire pit outside. We'll stay here again next time we're in Dallas!

During our first stay, a fire drill went off at 5 AM. It turned out to be a mistake, with no fire, and I wouldn't have chosen to return. But we were accidentally booked here again for business. The rooms are full of LED lights, including one in the smoke detector that you can't cover. It's so bright that getting a dark room is impossible.

Ricky at the front desk was awesome, but I won't come back. The bathroom was cramped and awkward, like an RV bathroom, and not functional with kids. My 10-year-old son even asked why the toilet was so small. There was no door at the sink, and the only door was between the toilet and shower, so you had to squeeze through to close it. With no door before the sink, using the bathroom lights lit up the whole room when someone washed their hands. Such a weird layout. I also found a used Kleenex behind the nightstand and mold on the bathroom ceiling and walls. Even my son noticed there was no ventilation for the shower. There was a grate, but it did nothing for smells or moisture.
