Baymont by Wyndham Richburg/Chester Area

We needed somewhere to stay for two weeks while work was being done at our house. The rate was reasonable, and the rooms were very clean. Housekeeping was especially friendly and thorough, and the staff and manager were more than accommodating. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The breakfast was a letdown when we arrived 25 minutes before it closed. Most of the sausage gravy was gone, the biscuits were hard, the juice machine wasn’t working, and there were no eggs or meat. I had yogurt, a banana, and a very good waffle. I don’t drink coffee, so I went to the lobby restroom to get water. The room itself looked clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were nice. There were some spots with old, dirty paint, but I liked the updated lighted mirror and the good-sized refrigerator. All in all, my needs were met and I was satisfied with the stay.

The sheets looked used and had stains that appeared and smelled like urine. There was urine all over the toilet seat, and the floors were dirty too. I asked the front desk for a refund so I could leave, but they offered another room instead. That room was already occupied, and they tried to move us into the room used by a family with a very sick child. I asked again for my money back and was refused. We left and lost what we’d paid. A Motel 6 would have been nicer.

I booked three weeks, but after the first night I canceled the other two. They refused to refund me, so they kept $2,000 and I was left without a place to sleep. The room smelled of smoke, and I never got a towel or bedding without awful stains. The sheets had marks that looked like blood, then a huge paw print; the towels had blackish stuff on them. The shower was so dirty I laid a towel on the floor to avoid standing barefoot, and it looked cleaner afterward, though still gross. There were short brown hairs on the shower wall, definitely not my long purple hair. I’ve never seen pillows this flat, four stacked together barely made one normal pillow. One day I came back to find the bed completely stripped. The front desk guy said housekeeping had probably gone in, but I still wanted to know if they’d come back and make the bed. It’s really a Super 8 that got the rights to use the Wyndham name to trick people.
