Red Roof Inn & Suites Jackson - Richland

After five days on the road, I badly needed to wash clothes, and this motel had a laundry room. There was also a beautiful pool area. The property sits on a frontage road instead of the main highway, so it was quieter from the start. My stay was peaceful, with no disturbance from tenants above or on either side. I liked the country setting, and Wendy’s and other places to eat were within walking distance. The room was extremely clean, the bed was wonderful, and my cat loved the windows. I was surprised to find a sitting area apart from the bedroom, with its own TV. Check-in was quick, friendly, and pleasant, and everyone was super friendly and accommodating. What a great surprise. I’d definitely come back.

The owners were helpful and nice, and it was quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep. The place was clean, close to food and a laundromat, and had its own washer and dryer on site. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others. Thank you.

I had to grab a pill off the bedside table before my dogs or child could get to it, and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. My room was dirty. I don’t see how the floors had been swept or mopped. I didn’t think to take pictures before my dogs’ hair was on the floor, but my socks were dirty underneath, so it clearly hadn’t been mopped. The towels and rags were stained already. When I asked for another towel and rag to wash bowls that had yogurt in them, the woman complained that once they’ve had food on them, they’re trash. In my opinion, she shouldn’t own a hotel if she doesn’t want to clean it. They kept my $50 deposit and charged another $30 for dog hair on the bed, which would be laundered anyway. Maybe the $30 was for leaving 30 minutes after checkout because my ride was late. They also charged my card an extra $125, then decided to give it back, I guess. Don’t advertise as pet friendly if pets can’t get on the beds.

There’s no breakfast, just free coffee in the room. The grounds were clean, the water was hot, and the pillows were soft enough that I slept like a brick. Even my little Chihuahua slept hard. The stained towels were the one letdown, though they were clean, and everything else was great. They need to fix the way they clean the towels. Other than that, it’s a great place.
