Fairfield Inn & Suites Savannah SW/Richmond Hill

We needed a last-minute halfway stop between Florida and North Carolina while rushing because of a family emergency. From the first phone call, the staff were kind, calm, and extremely helpful with the reservation, and they accommodated our service dog. We arrived late, but check-in was still quick and professional. The room was clean, comfortable, and restful, breakfast the next morning was excellent, and checkout went smoothly. We were grateful for the care we received. This Fairfield exceeded our expectations, and we'd absolutely choose it again and recommend it.

I used to stay here for years when I came to Savannah for business conferences, and it used to be a great place. This visit was nothing like that. The Fairfield Inn felt like a Motel 6 without the sign. On Friday evening, January 23rd 2026, nobody was at the desk, though the phone kept ringing. I waited 20 minutes before a guy came to check me in. He was unfriendly, didn't apologize, welcome me, thank me for being a Marriott member, or offer water. He put me in a third-floor room that was hearing impaired and accessible, even though I always specify I don't want that type of room. When I came down to explain, he was a jerk. He eventually moved me to the first floor, which I don't like because of the noise. That room was dirty. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed, and the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The towels and washcloths were cheap and looked like they'd been wadded up wet and hung out to dry. It was a Motel 6 experience. Don't stay at this dump. I also emailed the GM. Management, don't send a generic apology about talking to staff or asking me to give you another chance. Take responsibility and contact me personally to make this right. Show some real customer service and concern.

The staff were extra nice and welcoming both times we stayed, from the young woman and man who checked us in to the breakfast prep and housekeeping staff the next morning. We first stopped here on our way from Miami to TN, then came back early on our return because of an unexpected winter snowstorm. Both visits felt the same. The hotel was quiet, clean, and nicely decorated. Friendly staff and a clean place, I'd highly recommend it if you're nearby.

We slept well because the Fairfield was quiet enough for a good night's rest. Staff greeted us quickly and handed over the keys, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. The TV was a good size, though the remote was still a bit weird to use. Breakfast was adequate, but I wish the sausage didn't look boiled.
