We really enjoyed this lovely historic hotel, especially learning about the inn’s past, seeing the art exhibit, and meeting Annabelle, their beautiful resident cat. The rooms were clean, with charming decor and great linens. It’s centrally located and made a great base for exploring the area.

I went hoping for the allegedly haunted hotel experience, but the equipment I brought to detect spirits didn’t help me contact anyone. After I woke up to check on it, a toy car I’d left on the table had its doors open. No idea whether that was a spirit or just a freak accident, but it was interesting. The stay was still pleasant, and I’d come back. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the garden was beautiful even though rain kept me from sitting in it, and the parlour was clean and full of antiques. Meeting Annabelle, the resident cat, was lovely, and I felt honored when she napped on my lap. My dragon Clover and bat Nadja also had a delightful time exploring the hotel. A few little things bothered me: the bedding smelled strongly of detergent or cleaner, which was unpleasant with my sensitive skin and sense of smell, and the room felt stuffy. A ceiling fan would’ve helped, though I understand that might not be possible in a historic building. The welcome package truffles also seemed stale. Still, I enjoyed staying in such a historic place.

The room could’ve used a fridge, but that was only a small hiccup. We had a really sweet night in the cozy garden room, a lovely place to unwind. Will at the bar/restaurant was the best part. He’s a treasure and gave us fantastic ideas for exploring VA, which is helpful since we’re considering moving here. We’d definitely return.

We had a nice visit and I’d definitely stay at Linden Row Inn again. The staff were friendly, and our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We stayed the night on 2-21-26, then had breakfast Sunday morning. For the two of us it came to about $60. plus tip. I had coffee, and my husband and I each had a mimosa. He got eggs, sausage, fruit, and toast, while I had French toast and sausage. It struck me as a little expensive, but everything was delicious and we were at a lovely hotel, so the price felt acceptable.

The rooms have real keys, which charmed me more than I expected. The inn has been updated thoughtfully, so it’s comfortable and welcoming with the amenities we’re used to, while still feeling like a step into history. I’d suggest choosing the book about Linden Row Inn when you reserve. Learning the site’s history while staying there was wonderful. We’ll definitely return to Richmond and recommend it to anyone after a beautiful, distinctive alternative to a chain hotel.
